Content and physical description
ContentAlfred Schlee thanks you for your letter of 25 May regarding Charles Munch's planned performances of CONCERTA GROSSA. The score (copy) has been in the hands of ChM since 23 May, who has changed it for the performance and retained it as his property. The score and material were sent in April to Dr. Spitzmüller, who is in constant contact with Munch. Spitzmüller will forward the material to the Concertgebouw. According to Dr. Spitzmüller, ChM intends to eventually perform the work with the Concertgebouw in Scheveningen in July before the Edinburgh Festival. On 29 April they asked their English representation, Boosey & Hawkes, to take charge of the Edinburgh performance. In addition they wrote to ChM, the letter will be forwarded to him with the party (material). Jean Meylan (Geneva), the permanent conductor of the North German Radio Orchestra in Cologne, will perform the work with the Radio Chamber Orchestra on 1 August at Brühl Castle near Bonn. A copy of the score and material were already provided to him on 21.5.
BM will write to the publishing department regarding the printing of the score.
