ContentBruno Zirato has received the following information from the publisher [B&H] concerning SYMPHONY No.2: Bohuslav Martinů is pleased to have obtained for Artur Rodzinski the first performance of his SYMPHONY No.2 in New York in the 1943/44 season. The Cleveland Orchestra will perform [the world premiere] on October 28 [in Cleveland]. Since the Cleveland Orch. has an exclusive until the end of 1943, the New York performance must be scheduled after that date.
Zirato may have booked the first New York performance, but Rodzinsky can still refuse.
