Content and physical description
ContentMax Tau demands that the reproduction and stage performance rights remain with the composer and lyricist [Bohuslav Martinů and Nikos Kazantzakis]. It is common in the world for the editor to have these rights, but in France, where NK lives, S.A.C.D. has these rights. They have to make a special contract for this. Universal Edition cannot publish the work [GREEK PASSION] until it holds these rights.
Rafael Kubelík has the complete score and has promised to make a final decision by the end of May. He said he would like to make the premiere in the summer of 1958, but it depends on his financial possibilities.
They can still give the work to Herbert Karajan in Salzburg, although, unlike Kubelík, he does not show much interest in the work.
