Content and physical description
ContentRybka apologizes for not writing sooner, he was in Czechoslovakia and had problems. He wanted to go with Jan Novák to Lucerne to see Janáček's From the Dead House, but the authorities delayed issuing a visa for Novák, so Rybka couldn't go either. Rybka also wanted to go with Novák to Vienna to get spare parts for his car, but Novák again did not get a visa. He regrets that he could not go to Liestal and Basel. Ruddy [Firkušný] wanted Rybka to find the original score of Martinů's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in AMP. AMP was bought by Schirmer, so he called there, but they sent the score to Schott, Mainz. Mr. Rosso of Schirmer and Rybka wrote to Schott to send the score to Ch. Martin. Rybka hopes that Piatigorsky will pay Martinů a good price for the original. Boris and Janis are in Nuremberg. Mary Carolyn [?] has bought a house in NYC. Jimmy is still in Boston. Rybka brought his Volk[s]wagen, but all the stuff was stolen from it. The conditions in the Czechoslovakia are terrible, he will never go there again.
