Content and physical description
Content[Boosey & Hawkes] are negotiating with the Columbia Artists Management about Rudolf Firkušný’s performances of Bohuslav Martinů’s CONCERTO FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA NO. 2. RF possesses a set of materials which BM gave him years ago on the basis of a verbal agreement, they have not concluded any contract. The work was performed at Ann Arbor and no fee was paid to B&H. RF was supposed to deliver the materials to B&H in London, so that a contract could be concluded and subsequently a hire fee for this material required.
[In the top, P. Ayers’s reply dating from 24. 12. 1953 is added: Since the work is the property of Orbis in Prague, where it was also published, other contracts are null and void. B&H in London have the material in their library, and a hire fee will be required each time the material is used.]
