Content and physical description
ContentThey send thanks for the letter dated 6 February 1958. [Does it concern the materials for the opera JULIETTE?] They really have sent for the Wiesbaden Theatre just the vocal score, it was in compliance with Bohuslav Martinů’s instructions from September 1953. This vocal score contains Walter Schmolka’s English translation. In September 1954 they sent the orchestra and chorus performance material to the Boosey & Hawkes, Bonn, it should still be there. The material includes the full score and orchestral parts, 2 vocal scores, 23 roles, 9 soprano/alto chorus parts, 6 tenor and 6 bass parts. Now, upon BM’s request, they are sending the autograph score to the Czechoslovak Theatre Agency in Prague. They ask BM whether he would also like them to send to the agency the print folios together with a typed copy of the English libretto and a printed French libretto, which is BM’s property. They can arrange for the material to be sent to BM in Europe, there is quite a lot of it.
