Content	Karl Vötterle is pleased that Bohuslav Martinů has recovered sufficiently to be able to communicate with them. The CC ordered that the draft contracts for the BM works be translated into English and sent to BM as soon as possible. He informs that they have been given permission by Boosey & Hawkes publishers to use their arrangement of the piano lift for MIRANDOLINA. The Basel Theatre have not yet sent them the piano lift but will telephone them there. He adds that he would like to take the score and the piano lift with him when he goes to Prague on 14 January. KV is happy that BM wants to premiere the work in Prague. KV asks BM for permission to negotiate in Prague, he says he has contacts in ND and Dilia. KV notes that if they want to perform the work in Prague during the Prague Spring, there will be little time to translate and produce the material. He asks the addressee to tell him urgently whether a meeting will be possible [see XLI/15], and suggests that he come to Basel. KV asks BM if he will be in Wiesbaden on 26 January for the premiere of JULIETTA. P.S. They will not be able to send the piano lift from Basel to Kassel until 15 Feb.
