Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů apologises to Paul Sacher for the delayed reply, but the end of the season is always difficult in New York.
BM informed Boosey & Hawkes regarding THE BRIDGE SONG [PS asked for piano excerpt and score, see Sac 1952-02-26]. However, the outcome is uncertain, there have been office changes and everything is rearranged. BM will meet with director Ernst Roth and remind him. The piano extract and orchestral score were published [by B&H] in London.
BM [and Charlotte Martinů] decide to travel to Europe. They leave on Saturday, May 10. They may meet PS [and Maja Sacher] at the Paris Festival. They will stay in Paris for ten days, BM gives the address.
Concerto for two violins and orchestra has not yet been published. The exclusive rights to it are held by two young performers who play it very well [Gerald Beal and Wilfred Beal]. BM will, however, try to procure a copy for PS.
BM and ChM will move from Paris to Cassis near Marseille, on the Côte d'Azur, for a few weeks.
