Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů tells Paul Sacher that he has finally met Betty Bean, who has been away from New York for several days. BB confirmed to him that the CONCERTANT SYMPHONY [No. 2] could not be performed because the material for it is still not ready. After the writer's first visit, BB had already negotiated [with Boosey & Hawkes] in London to reserve the work's premiere for Sacher. BB has also cancelled all commissions for the work for the current and next season. An announcement of a future performance of the work appeared on the BBC schedule. It was arranged by Rafael Kubelík, perhaps with London [B&H]. RK, however, did not have the material anyway, and BM wrote to him personally asking him not to perform the piece before Sacher's premiere.
BB has written to London [B&H] again, hopefully all will go well. It would be best if PS writes to [B&H] in London himself and arranges with them, among other things, for timely delivery of material.
BM wonders again that PS got the wrong message about the Paris version.
