Content and physical description
ContentAs Paul Sacher [and Maja Sacher] may already know, BM had a serious accident. He is better now, but was forced to postpone his trip to Europe. The accident meant for him the interruption of his work on the 3rd movement of TOCCATA E DUE CANZONI. He has just finished this sentence. He asked the publishers Boosey & Hawkes to send Sacher the second and third movements immediately and to take care of the orchestral material. PS can contact them, BM gives the address of their New York office. BM himself asked them to hurry up. BM treated the canzoni form rather loosely in this piece.
BM regrets that he cannot come to Europe. Charlotte Martinů is having trouble getting a return ticket or airfare.
It will take several months for BM to fully recover.
PS is to keep the composition fee in Europe. BM offers a dedication to Sacher on the anniversary of the Basel Chamber Orchestra.
