Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů informs Paul Sacher that he has after all found a few errors in the score [CONCERTA DA CAMERA] which are easily corrected. He lists them and indicates the necessary corrections. He also asks the addressee to check the dynamic signs and that the orchestra does not overlap the solo violin too much.
He acknowledges receipt of Sacher's telegram. He is pleased that Sacher likes the piece. He sends a copy to the publishers Boosey & Hawkes. They are leaving Edgartown next week [with Charlotte Martin] and probably will not return to New York yet, as BM is better off working in the country. They may go to Long Island, where there is a good connection to New York. BM gives [Frank] Rybka's address on Long Island.
He is glad that PS is continuing his musical activities. BM doesn't like the system here [in the US?] and many things bother him.
PS has comments to make on the phrasing and rhythmic structure in CONCERT DA CAMERA.
It was a pleasure to work on this piece and helped him get back to his routines after a chaotic period.
Does PS have any news of the writer's friends in Cannes? So far he hasn't heard anything from them in all the time he's been [in Edgartown]. He now has news of Charlotte Martin's parents and is thinking of writing to her home.
Thanks Sacher again for the idea of booking the [CONCERTO DA CAMERA] concert.
