Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů wrote to Paul [and Maje] Sacher and two days later he received a letter from them.
BM will leave [with Charlotte Martinů] on 1 July for a holiday and will immediately begin work on a violin concerto for PS [CONCERTO DA CAMERA]. Until now he was always distracted by something and could not work. Perhaps there will be more time in the countryside.
He has already approached the Swiss Consulate [about sending the manuscript], as PS advised him [see Sac 1941-06-05]. BM thinks that everything will go smoothly. Nevertheless, he will make a copy. He will leave the US operation until after Sacher's premiere.
Writes to Sacher from the Island [Martha's Vineyard], giving his address there (Edgartown).
He's already started work on CONCERTA DA CAMERA, but needs to look at it again; the New York setting is distracting. He hopes to finish the piece during July. He will definitely send it to Sacher in August.
