Content and physical description
ContentHe is not composing anything, he is in a strange phase due to events, he cannot find a form that would correspond to his present state of mind; he asks Dlouhý to pick up the score and the piano excerpt of "Niponari" from [Otakar] Nebuska and give them to Sl. Nováková; asks him at the same time to correct the text with her help according to the melody, only where necessary, e.g. In the song "On Mount Miosyna where there is only ice" [notation of the rhythm], to add one syllable to each quarter, also "I found in the bright snow its trace" [notation of the rhythm]; the corrections should be written in the piano extract, not in the score; thanks him in advance for his hard work; 1. the song "Blue Night" is almost good, except for the word "climbs", 4. "Old Age" and 7. "Prosněný život" are good, but 2. "Autumn" and 3. "On the mountain" and 6. "Flowers bloomed" have to be corrected somewhere; then have him send it by registered mail if he can within 10-14 days; "Jirka" [Jiranka?] has sent him French books; he is reading Karamazov; he will learn nothing about the war here, he reads the newspapers only between the lines; he asks about Stanislav Novak; Nebushka lives at the corner of Táborská and Vávrová; he would like to see Prague.
