Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů sends in a completed form so that he can get his money in the form of support. He begins to doubt whether this was a good idea. He doesn't want to talk to Karel Šebánek, he knows what he is doing. He asks him to point out in the appropriate places that BM's cooperation with Orbis depends on the fulfilment of the signed contracts. He also asks about the 30,000 he had been allowed to travel to Paris, which he wanted to use to repair his house in Vieux Moulin. He describes how he had to borrow money to repair the house and eventually sold it. The contract [between Orbis and Boosey & Hawkes] seems good to him, if he understands it well. Raul H. [Ralph Hawkes] had only one objection, but he will deal with KS directly. He has not received anything from Winterthur and is depositing it with B&H. He is waiting for the JULIETTE scores and will do something immediately. He has the possibility of a concert performance with 'a good young conductor' [?]. But he does not know how he will solve the question of the translations of the vocal parts. He asks about the lifting of the SPALICE, he is very much looking forward to it. Wonders if the Academy could send him a prize to America. He recalls their meeting in the rue de St. Peres. If KS had received a letter from AMP, he is not to reply to them until he gets further news from BM.
