ContentThe money for Bohuslav Martinů has still not arrived. Karel Šebánek is to call the National Bank to send a telegram to the Legation saying that the money has been released. They would give him an advance on the legation. He must have left Paris already. He had made all the necessary arrangements with Boosey & Hawkes. They promised to send a letter of invitation to KS. When KS wrote to him that he could not go because his passport papers had been lost, BM put off all other arrangements until later. Incidentally, KS can arrange the meeting with B&H himself and also ask them to prepare a contract to represent BM's works. They could sign it in Paris. KS has nothing to blame BM for, he doesn't know what the difficulties are in Prague. Given the exclusive contract he has with B&H, he would like them to represent him in conjunction with Melantrich as well. KS has also not answered him about what to do about the translation of JULIETTA. BM wrote to his brother that it is not possible to live in the house in Vieux Moulin, nor with relatives in Paris. They are staying in a hotel themselves. He gives an address where KS should write to him. He will not be back in Paris until before he leaves for New York, about September 15-20.
