ContentBohuslav Martinů should not be discouraged by their momentary rejection of the DUO and the THREE SKETCHES and should continue to send them his new compositions. They are really interested in them, that is why they have concluded the contract with him. They ask him to be patient in each individual case. When it comes to his opera, stage works fall beyond their publishing activity. They kindly ask him to provide them for a short time with the piano score and libretto prior to the performance, if it is possible. They would definitely like to know the date of the premiere so that they can send someone to see it. As regards the accounting of his STRING QUARTET NO. 2, they calculated as the advance for the first printing of the score the amount of Kč 240, for the parts Kč 432, from which they deducted Kč 625 for additional authorial corrections. The result is the remaining amount of Kč 47, which they have sent to him.
