Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Charlotte Martinů in haste, time flies. He's been to the consulate for a passport change and money. He was working on the Quartet [SMITH QUARTET No. 7 (CONCERTO DA CAMERA)]. He and Rudolf [Firkušný] were with [Frank] Rybka. RF left yesterday, but he wanted to stay in New York for Jana, who has to stay here for school. BM met [Adela] Sticker who advises him not to leave until he is well. Received postcards from [Jan] Zrzavy, Martha [de Stern] and also a letter from ChM in Zbiroh.
Asks about her visit to the castle with [Edvard] Benes and about SYMPHONY [No. 5]. Perhaps she will go to [Lucia] Rosen's for a week. Describes that the weather is not good for him but he feels better. Tomorrow he expects a visit from a professor from Columbia University who wants to meet him. [Antonín] Svoboda is also expected to arrive soon.
