I Love Old Parks, (Mám staré parky rád, H 79, from 1912) is among the most attractive and unforced of all Martinů’s songs, its laconic text (of Jaromír Borecký, 1869–1951) telling of a need to seize life (and love) while one can. The recording of the composition was released for the first time by Naxos in 2014 (Martinů: Songs, Vol. 2 – The Months; Jana Wallingerová, Giorgio Koukl).
