The Piano piece (without title) was composed in Paris in 1924. Together with Prelude, H 140, it was written by Martinů for the Czech pianist Karel Šolc. However, based on his letter (ŠolK 0000-00-00d), we know that he never performed either of the compositions publicly, he discovered both of them in 1950 while moving. In 1970, the composition was published by Panton in Prague.
