About the composition

The now lost piano piece Blues, H 176, is known only from a reference in Šafránek's monography. It was composed in Paris and dedicated to Lydia Wisiak. Wisiak, a dancer from Ljubljana, then a member of the Opéra comique ballet, was among the friends of the Špaček family and also of Bohuslav Martinů. An occasional, also lost, composition Habanera, H 156 was also choreographed by her.
