The eleven-minute piano piece Bajky (Fables) was composed by Martinů in 1924 during his stay in Paris. It consists of five movements: 1. Na farmě (On the Farm). Poco moderato, 2. Chudák králíček (Poor Little Rabbit). Andante, 3. Opičky (Monkeys). Moderato, poco allegro, 4. Kuřátko (Chick). Tempo di Minuetto, and 5. Zlý medvěd (The Bad Bear). Allegro moderato. The composition was published in Prague in 1947 by Mojmír Urbánek's publishing house, and later also by Supraphon. The manuscript is now missing.
