Martinů composed four piano pieces for children Spring in the Garden in Prague in 1920. The work is dedicated to Harry Faul. The original titles of the individual parts of the cycle are: 1. „Co teď budeme hráti? Na honěnou?“ (What shall we play now? Tag?), 2. „Myslím, že bych už měl jít spát“ (I think I should go to bed now), 3. „Proč bychom si nezahráli na vojáky?“ (Why don't we play soldiers?), 4. „Není to snad nic zlého, utrhnu-li si několik květin“ (There's no harm in picking a few flowers). However, Halbreich mentions that these titles are probably not Martinů's. The manuscript of the work is now missing.
