| Content | Martinů thanks Mihalovici for the news, he has received the two letters and has been getting ready to answer them all the time but the days go by. They are still very well, BM has started to work and it is still hot but they will tell him all this when he arrives there on the 24th. BM hopes that you he will enjoy his stay with them. BM has received a letter from [Tibor] Harsanyi, and replied to him. They also want to come to Cannes next month and after that, so he wants MM to talk to Lizika [Codreanu] and asks if the two of them would like to look for something for him and Charlotte, a small flat, not too expensive, exposed to the sun and a bit warm in winter, but he doesn't think for the whole year, six months at the most. They still have plenty of time, but it's better to have something fixed in advance. He is also going to ask MM for the Cannes certificate, as he sent him from there, so that he can spend the Sundays getting the pass, which also takes a few days. They are really looking forward to going there, it will make the winter more cheerful when they are all together. They hope MM will tell them all about it soon. They have to go to Marseilles, but he doesn't know on what day. He has received news from America and they have to see their consul in Marseilles. MM is certainly already settled in Cannes. |

“[...] Je vous remercie pour des nouvelles, j'ai bien reçu les deux lettres et je me suis tout le temps preparer a repondre mais les jours passent ... Nous sommes toujours très bien ici, j'ai commencé à travailler et il fait toujours chaud mais tout cela nous vous le disant quand vous serai 24 ici et j'espère que ce ne sera pas long venez, nous vous attendrons avec beaucoup de plaisir et espérons que cela vous plaira chez nous. J'ai reçu une lettre de [Tibor] Harsanyi, je lui a répondu. Nous voulons aussi venir à Cannes pour le mois prochain et la suite, je vous demande si vous vouler bien parler à Lizika [Codreanu] et si vous voulez avec elle chercher quelque chose pour nous, un petit appartement pas trop cher, exposé au soleil qu'on a un peu chaud l'hiver, mais je ne pense pas pour tout l'année, maximum six mois. Enfin vous verrez, nous avons encore beaucoup de temps, mais il vaut mieux avoir quelque chose fixe d'avance. Je vous demanderai aussi le certificat de Cannes, comme je vous ai envoié d'ici, pour que je passe les dimanches pour laisser-passer, cela prend aussi quelques jours. Nous nous rejouissons beaucoup d'aller là bas, cela fera l'hiver plus gai, quand nous serons tous ensemble. Tous cela vous nous raconterai bientot, nous éspérons. Nous devons aller ces-jours-ci à Marseille mais je ne sais pas quel jour, j'ai reçu des nouvelles d'Amérique et il faut voir notre consul à Marseille. Vous êtes certainement déjà installé à Cannes et je suis sûre que cela vous plaira mieux [...]”
