ContentThe letter concerns an invitation to Bohuslav Martinů to Prague. According to information from Ambassador [Adolf] Hoffmeister, BM is worried about a breakdown in the work he started after a serious injury two years later. BM needs further treatment in the USA and Switzerland. He has accepted a position at Princeton University. BM welcomes the present political situation in the Czechoslovakia and accepts the honor of a professorship at the AMU and proposes teaching in the form of three-month courses for two years due to his health. He obligingly arrives at the 1949 Prague Spring Festival and begins the course. AH recommends to the Ministry acceptance of the proposal as formulated by BM.
