ContentThe Ministry of Culture sends the Czech Music Fund a copy of its letter of 5 April 1954, by which it gave the State Publishing House of Fine Literature, Music and Art instructions for a reply to Bohuslav Martinů on his threat to terminate publishing contracts for not fulfilling them on the part of the State Publishing House of Fine Literature, Music and Art.

In the attached document, the Ministry of Culture instructs the State Publishing House to inform BM in an appropriate manner that the Ministry instructs all its subordinate units to immediately take all measures necessary to ensure that BM's works are published, operated, distributed, promoted, offered and marketed. However, it is necessary to point out to BM that all these instructions are based on the unanimous consent of all concerned. The publishing house is also to do everything possible to achieve these objectives and is to edit the next editions of all its catalogues accordingly.

The Ministry points out that only the consistent implementation of these guidelines can prevent the loss of publishing rights to BM works. Signed [Jiří] Taufer
