ContentBohuslav Martinů writes to Charlotte Martinů that he will leave for Tanglewood tomorrow. He has received a letter from Karel [Novak] who writes about [Karel Boleslav] Jirák, that the KBJ denounced him to the Nazi government, BM does not understand this at all. KN tries to find him an apartment, BM tells him that they will stay at Zbiroh first. He is tired after the party at [Grigoriy] Piatigorsky's. Martinu explains to ChM that staying in Czechoslovakia might be tiring for him. [Arthur] Honegger is very ill, he has had a heart attack, but BM hopes they will meet. [Samuel] Barber has joined Tanglewood in his place. He is planning a visit with a lawyer in Pittsfield. KN also wrote to him that BM will be able to appoint an assistant at the Conservatory, BM doesn't understand much, will write to him.
