Content and physical description
ContentRobert Fitzgerald sends suggestions for changes [in the libretto for the ballet THE STRANGLER, requested by Bohuslav Martinů, see HawE 1948-04-28]. RF has no objection l to the omission of one verse. However, it rejects the other two proposed cuts on principle and explains why. The whole story would lose irony and depth. RF requests that the composer [Bohuslav Martinů] also be informed of his reasons for retaining these verses. RF is surprised that EH as a performer does not see this sense.
