BM is still with Professor [Jaromír Pečírka], but tomorrow he is going back to Prague, and on Saturday he will hopefully go to Polička. They spent their free time there playing football, BM participated in the game only as a spectator, [Sanislav and Karel] Novák won.
In the evening they listened to a performance of the Magic Flute from Salzburg on the radio, which did not interest them much, so they went to play cards after the first act. BM hopes that ChM received his previous writing, which he wrote at speed, as he still has work to do [at Hluboka]. They [the Pechers'] children wake them up at 8am. There are nice lakes in the vicinity, nicer than at Mattsee, but unfortunately it is still raining.
BM reckons ChM has recovered from the trip, he is sorry they are so far apart. Wonders what they told her at the studio.
Everyone here speaks French so he and ChM can go there next year and play tennis, swim and go for walks. BM is looking forward to seeing ChM. He had a long holiday this year so hopes to get to work in Polička. Paul Brandl was sorry to see her cry, he will send his mum some sweets. [Karel?] Novak has calmed down here, there's that "bon garcon" again, ChM knows why. Now the whole group is going to play cards and send greetings. |
