Content and physical description
ContentAs a "Christmas present" Universal Edition wants to pay off old debts to the library [Austrian National Library] and in response to Leopold Nowak's lists of requests they send three sample copies (one of which is for the bibliography) of their new publications and reprints from 1948 and 1949.

The only work above the price limit of S. [shilling] 72 is Martinů's CONCERTO GROSSO (costing S. 75). UE forwards LN an invoice for half the price of S. 37.50 and retains a copy ready for shipment (the copy for the bibliography will be added to the shipment unaccounted for). They will take care of the other remainders after the New Year.
UE will also enclose two copies of brochures and catalogues from recent years.

[The letter is accompanied by a note concerning the Press Law:] The "Press Law" of 7 April 1922 makes it obligatory to supply copies of every printed work published in Austria (including unaltered new editions).
