Content and physical description
ContentErick Hawkins had studied Robert Fitzgerald's text [for THE STRANGER ballet] several times and wanted to reread it with fresh eyes. EH enjoyed RF's writing very much. In the last few days EH has had to rework a year old performance because he hasn't yet found a solution to balance the experiment with trying to convey the meaning of the piece to the audience. He is also addressing this for the financial sustainability of his work. That's why he wants the RF text to be in line with Hawkins' idea from the beginning. EH describes how the RF text is unusable for stage use, is too poetic, unintelligible on one listen and detracts from the action on stage. EH asks that RF rework the text. They can discuss everything at the meeting the following week, or EH can send the new text before the meeting.
