Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů's departure from Lisbon to New York is scheduled for 21 March, but he would like to sail on another ship as early as 14 February. The addressees are to intervene to this effect with the American Export Line in New York. He asks for a monetary contribution, not having counted on such a long stay in Lisbon.

Letter commented: Martinů paid for his journey out of his own funds and has received no support from the [Czechoslovak Consulate] since the defeat of France. The writer therefore recommends that BM telegraph $50 from Cheik's funds [?]
