Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů unfortunately does not have good news for Alexander Tcherepnin. He asked [Charles] Munch and Leopold Mannes but all the positions are already occupied, Mannes probably thought of AT but told BM that they found someone to stay permanently. BM will write again to Curtis, to [Efrem] Zimbalist, but he probably does not have a good reputation after his prompt departure; [Vittorio] Giannini is there and maybe he is staying, too. In Tanglewood there is [Goffredo] Petrassi for this summer. He does not know a lot of people at the Columbia University and will still look into the Julliard School. BM asks AT if he knows someone at the Yale University, Hindemith probably still holds the position there but he is in Switzerland. It will be difficult to find something here but everything happens by chance here. BM asks if he is with [?; Gogens? Cagens? Go[o]s[s]ens?] at the Festival in Colorado. BM and Charlotte Martinů already have travel fever and are making packages for Europe and Rome. [Grigorij] Piatigorsky also phoned BM about LM, LM should ask him to speak about him at the Curtis Institute, maybe they will need a piano teacher to fill the position after [Isabelle] Vengerova. BM and ChM are leaving on 2 May [1956]. It was nice to see both LM [and his wife] back in New York.
