Content and physical description
ContentErnst Roth responds to Paul Sacher's letter of July 26 and expresses regret that they were unable to meet in person during the summer, hoping to make up for it in the future. He mentions that he has not heard from Igor Stravinsky since his departure for South America. He speculates about Stravinsky's work plans between September and December in Italy. He describes Stravinsky as a patient composer who does not need to hear his work before he is convinced of its final form. He also mentions his own listening to Stravinsky's composition "Movements" in June in Cologne, and compared to [Karl-Birger] Blomdahl's composition, he found this work pleasant. He is pleased that Benjamin Britten is writing a new composition and thinks that a fee of 15,000 francs will be sufficient.
