ContentHe apologises for the lateness of his reply to Bohuslav Martinů's letter of 2 October [1956]. He was on tour for three months in Africa, Portugal and Spain. Informs that the Harriet Cohen International Music Award Committee wants to give BM an award for his CONCERTANT SUITE. BC will play the suite on May 29 with Ernest Ansermet. On his recent tour, he played "with numerous reprises and great joy" the three ARABESQUE and CONCERTANT SUITE. He wonders if he might also offer the piece in Rome at the [Accademia Nazionale di] Santa Cecilia? He hopes BM had a productive winter in Rome.
