ContentErnst Roth thanks for the letter of April 29 [in the database under the signature BH 1957-04-29] and for the draft of the attached contract. He lists the changes he suggests [?]. He requests a final draft in two copies. The contract for the opera Tvrdé [the opera Tvrdé palice by Antonín Dvořák] was forwarded by ER to Miss Harford [?], as soon as he has her signature he will return the contract. As for Martinů - Locandiera [BM himself worked on the libretto for the opera MIRANDOLINA based on the original Italian text of Carlo Goldoni's La Locandiera], ER only has the manuscript of the vocal part, he can send it to Dilia, but he will need it back. The final piano version of Britten's Prince of the Pagodas is not yet in print, ER is sending one of the copies that was used at Covent Garden, but it is 80% correct. The final version should be ready in two months, and [at Boosey & Hawkes] they would be delighted if the piece was performed by the State Theater in Brno [NDB].
