ContentReply to the letter of June 29 [in the database under the signature BH-1956-06-29] regarding the extension of the territory to France. In addition to discussing matters regarding the contract between Artia and Boosey & Hawkes and the expansion of the territory, Matěj Šenar thanks Ernst Roth for ordering other publications (5 Nos of MUSICA ANTIQUA BOHEMICA, 2 works by Bohuslav Martinů and Janáčk's Diary of the One Who Disappeared). Janáček's edition will not be published as a pocket edition. B&H informs OSA of Artia's participation in the artist's performance rights. This information applies practically only to Janáček's Deník [Diary of the One Who Disappeared], given that these rights are already based on the Martinů contract and also because free rights apply on the works from the MAB collection. The letter mentions confusion regarding orders from Boosey & Hawkes.
