Content and physical description
ContentOdette Jacob was swamped with work, apologizing for writing back so late to Charlotte Martin's kind letter of October 13, 1969. She had studied the bills from Bärenreter and Universal that ChM had sent her and noted the letter that ChM had sent on October 8 via Universal. She discussed these matters with a person qualified in fiscal matters. Like OJ, this person considers that the money ChM receives from these two companies should be declared in the "Income outside France" box on her tax return. The 50% percentage that appears on the inventories from Universal Publishing represents the Martins' share of the royalties, it in no way represents the amount of tax. The contract that Bohuslav Martinů signed with Universal Edition allocates 50% to the author and 50% to the publisher. As far as Bärenreiter is concerned, the percentages of 25 and 35% also reflect the share that should be stated in the contracts. Attached are the returned documents sent to ChM.
