ContentThe Ministry of Education and Enlightenment issues the following "Certificate": since Bohuslav Martinů is due to return to Prague from the United States at the beginning of 1946 to teach composition and continue his artistic activities, the Ministry of Education "urgently recommends" that BM find an apartment, as he has no accommodation in Prague. His cultural activities contributed significantly to the success of the Czech Resistance during the war. The matter of the flat should be resolved before BM returns. The Ministry of Education considers this to be a priority task and "recommends" that the offices of the National Committee and the housing department of the capital city of Prague "for urgent cultural reasons" allocate BM an apartment commensurate with his fame and importance.
