Content[Čeněk] Gardavský informs Tomáš Hejzlar that his proposal to award Bohuslav Martinů the title of National Artist in Memoriam is rejected because the condition for the award is, among other things, that the proposed person must have Czechoslovak citizenship.
A copy of the statement was also sent to the Office of the President of the Republic, as TH had also sent the proposal there.
Also attached to the letter is a document entitled "Statement" from the management of the Art Department dated 20 April 1966, giving the same reasons for the rejection of the application.
