| Content | [Alexandr] Bozděch was informed by Mrs. [Zdenka] Podhajská about the contents of Charlotta Martinů's letter of 9 December. AB contacted the Trade Bank and arranged for the amount of 2,770 dollars to be sent to the ChM account in return for the sum of 20,016 CZK. It is almost impossible that ChM's account with Bankers Trust Company did not receive the payment. Therefore, AB recommends that ChM verify this as he sent the entire amount, not just the installment.
As regards the amount of Kshs. 40,024, it is a credit amount dated 17-9-1963, coming from the Savings Bank. This amount is still deposited in ChM's account in Prague and can only be transferred at ChM's express request. Therefore, he believes that the sum of CZK 7,155 received by ChM came from elsewhere, for example from Dille, or from another organisation that deals with the payment of royalties. She asks whether the amount paid to her was sent in dollars or crowns.
The other amounts that ChM mentions in her letter are not clear to AB. This appears to be the same case as the amount of Kshs 40,024. If ChM wishes to sort out all these matters, it would be helpful if AB would send copies of the information on incoming payments. |
