Content and physical description
ContentVítězslava Kapralová writes from her summer stay at Victoria Dubost's castle in Augerville. Her only regret is that the piano was taken away a year ago, otherwise it is a beautiful setting. Her uncle Jan [?] has already sent her the requested police certificate of residence in Brno, and she still needs a copy of her baptismal certificate for a possible return. The Academy [of Sciences] did not take her Partita because they only accept works published in print, so she sent her Apple with a Wedge there. She had the money paid to Václav Kaprál so that he could use it to purchase the material for the Partita for the Czech Philharmonic. She was surprised to receive a letter from her mother, who urged her to wait. VK is now working on the instrumentation of the Concertino [for violin, clarinet and orchestra], but he doesn't get to do much. Bohuslav Martinů has been in Vieux-Moulin for three weeks now and is extremely bored there because he has no company. So far she has no news of an American scholarship; she has only received a prospectus from the Juilliard School, but they have neither a composition nor a conducting department.
