Content and physical description
ContentVítězslava Kaprálová received the notes and the letter in good order. The evening [with the performance of the works of the 'two Kapráls'] has been postponed until 30 June. VK talked to Leopold Stokowski at the station (he put a suitcase on her leg and said 'excuse me'). VK was there to accompany [Jaromír] Žid of the Czech Philharmonic, whom Jiří Mucha introduced her to. He knows a number of personalities and so he gradually introduces them to her. VK also deals with the question of photographs, the drawing of Rudolf [Kundera] and the applications for support submitted to the Academy [of Sciences of the Czechoslovakia]. She leaves the question of her relationship with Bohuslav Martinů and Rudolf Kopec to develop, but rejects accusations of insincerity. "Does the family bond also apply to Kopec, or only in the case of Martinů?"
She is copying the Partita now, but she is not very good at it. VK rates the past year in Paris better than the year before; even though she was not taken anywhere to study, she still did a lot of work. She is anxiously waiting for a recommendation to the Juilliard School from a former American envoy [?] who is now somewhere in Italy. There are many Czechoslovaks in Paris.
