Content and physical description
ContentYesterday Vítězslava Kaprálová wrote two applications to the Czech Academy of Sciences for the Havelka Sisters Award and for support for young composers. She had already known about the [award] from [Rudolf] Kopec. She will seek election to the music committee of the youth cultural council. During her illness everyone took care of her, most of all Michael Palkut, Věrka [Uhlířová?] and Bohuslav Martinů. On Wednesday they were again with a setback at the École Normale. BM gets upset that it is not enough when VK takes "exquisite composition lessons with Martinů". VK will be glad if he starts writing the Ballade at all. She is busy with the instrumentation and is not surprised that [Alfred Kalmus] returned the score to her with a refusal.
