Content and physical description
ContentCharlotta Martinů explained the translation of the book by [Jaromír] Špaček, which contains many errors. She asks that Karel Šebánek not discuss this with [Anna] Špaček. She wanted to correct the translation herself so that she could hand the book over to [Margrit] Weber and [Maje] Sacher in Switzerland. AS had not yet sent her a coat and white dress. She said she had given the parcel to someone, but ChM has no idea to whom. She is handing over an address in Morina (Beroun district). He asks KS to write to the address and ask about the current situation. [Anna Marie] Wurm might take the package on her return to Nice. ChM received a letter from the Czech Music Fund which is impossible to translate. She is therefore asking KS to arrange for its translation into French. She is also interested in the contents of the letter from Johannes Fietzka. Doris [Doris?] Rybková has contacted ChM from Czechoslovakia. ChM has no news about the Večtom family. She will have a friend from Czechoslovakia visiting here in August, with whom they will be visiting Switzerland. Pierre Fournier and his son [Jean-Pierre Fournier] will perform SONATA No. 1 at the Lucerne Festival under the baton of Rafael Kubelík. Some pieces will also be performed at the Salzburg Festival in September. ChM will then move quickly to Paris for a concert at the Musée de Cluny, where PARTITA will be performed. The piece has had very good reviews. ChM is also invited to the Office de radiodiffusion-télévision française. She also has two new discs from Supraphon for which she has [Jaroslav] Seda to thank. The discs contain the following tracks: NONET [No. 1?], SONATA [No. 1?] and IMPROPTU. [Zdeněk] Mácal will conduct at the Besançon Festival, where, however, the works of Bohuslav Martinů will not be performed. Perhaps it will come one day, as ZM likes SYMPHONY No. 1.
