Content and physical description
ContentBohuslav Martinů is waiting in Paris for news from Vítězslava Kapralová. He doesn't even ask if she has been operated on. He talked to P. about her inclusion, but no luck. P. at least promised him that he would still find something for VK for the hymn [Vítězslava Kapralová's Hymn of the Voluntary Sisters of the Czechoslovak Red Cross]. ? left for America even though BM was still waiting for the documents for his departure. VK is to contact his friend [Pavel] Deutsch. Jirka [Mucha] is to write a letter for her and she is only to sign it. In it he is to tell VK that she is now completely destitute and ill and if he could arrange someone for her in Switzerland, or to guarantee her a monthly allowance and something for her suffering. BM will not ask him for anything now himself so that he [PD] will have money for VK. As soon as VK sends the letter, she is to let BM know and he will also send a letter of intercession. What is to be done with VK's things? There is no thought of returning to Paris and she will need them when she is discharged from the hospital. What will she do then? Has Colonel [Václav] Vlček sent marches to [Vilém] Tauský? They should also write to VV. BM was worried that the Italians would come upon them [the VC], but it seems that they changed their minds. Surely he would have pleased her more with his presence than with these lines. He suspects that everything will be sorted out soon. Madame and the old man are still talking about VK and everyone wishes her a speedy recovery.
