Content | Writes in two issues:
1) Concerning the publishing of INTERMEZZO FOR LARGE ORCHESTRA, H 330
Enclosed in her letters of 09.05. and 31.05.1960 Charlotte Martinů sent some documents. The Southern Music Publishing Company confirmed the income of the publishing contract, which was sent to them by SUISA in the name of ChM, in their letter from 29.04.1960. Now the SMPC would like ChM to sign the papers they sent her some time ago in 25.03.1960 in three copies, and to send them back two copies. Thus the Columbia Records will be empowered to pay copyright compensations to the SMPC. If ChM shoud have any problems with this, she should not hesitate to entrust SUISA with this task as well.
2) Concerning the possibility of a publishing of correspondency between Rosalie Barstow and BM and publishing of a renewed Martinů´s biography by Miloš Šafránek.
He will do everything what is within the limits of his legislative possibilities to save Mrs Martinů´s copyright on their content and her personality right. With the same mail he sends copies of the concepts to letters to the two protagonists, MŠ and RB. He requests her to read them and eventually give her approval, so they can be sent. Out of the anaysis of the juristical situation has come, that publishing of the letters would provoke a conflict with the copyright, which owns now ChM as the only dedicee. The publication of certain private information concerning the Martinů´s marriage would also break with ChM´s personality rights. The range of the safety of these depends on the location of publishing and selling, though, so he asks ChM to find out some possible publishers, so he could possibly contact them.
3) To the letters of DILIA from 19.05.1960 and the Czech Musc Fond from 12.05.1960 they will response in ChM´s sense. |
