Content and physical description
ContentJán Papánek writes to his friend Jaromír Smutný about his agreement with Bohuslav Martinů that he will remit the money sent by President JP to him when he buys the ticket, or rather that he will buy the ticket and pay him the rest. However, when the telegram [from JS] came a few days ago asking that the money be paid to BM, JP did so immediately. JP goes on to discuss BM's health, which is not the best. BM has lost his hearing in one ear and is therefore still unable to work and is impatient. However, according to the doctor, BM is recovering. JP then mentions a completely different matter concerning Hamilton Fish Armstrong of Foreign Affairs, who is to stop in Czechoslovakia on his European travels and would like to visit the President.
