Content[Jan] Masaryk writes to Dr. [Jan] Papánek in a secret dispatch from London about the promise to Bohuslav Martinů to increase his income in the USA. JM asks what increase JP proposes for the composer's decent living. JM leaves for a few weeks. In the meantime, however, JP's proposal is handled by [Hubert] Ripka.

Slíbil jsem Martinů když jsem byl u Vás v USA že jeho příjem bude zvýšen. Sděl jakého zvýšení by bylo zapotřebí k slušnému jeho živobytí a co navrhuješ. Odjíždím na několik týdnů a požádal jsem [Huberta] Ripku aby během mé nepřítomnosti Tvůj návrh projednal s ministerstvem financí a provedl.
