Content and physical description
ContentThe Embassy forwards a telegram [VČSRW 1946-04-26a] from Jan Masaryk to Bohuslav Martinů in letter No. 4467/46, in which he appeals to BM to come to the festival in Prague [Prague Spring 1946]. Among other composers, Dmitri Shostakovich is to attend the festival. The Embassy asks BM to reply to the telegram directly to JM or through the Consulate General in New York to say whether he will attend the festival. Both the Embassy and the Consulate General promise to help BM with the formalities of the trip. The Embassy also asks BM to tell it what he has decided.
