Content and physical description
ContentKarel Boleslav Jirák thanks Bohuslav Martinů for his welcome during his trip to New York. He sends 4 photographs, albeit of poor quality. KBJ is already working but has bad news from home about his mother's health. If BM sees [Rudolf] Firkušný, he is to remind him of KBJ's letter. [Rafael] Kubelík is received sympathetically in Chicago, though not always enthusiastically. KBJ goes to see Kubelík's performance of Janáček's Sinfonietta today. Taras Bulba is a flop in the US.
